What is the cartridge Flush for?

The cartridge Flush is a solution that is designed to unblock print heads. It can be used in a number of situations
  1. JR Cartridge Flush - Printhead CleanerYou can use it to unblock a print head by soaking the head in a couple of millimetres of the liquid
  2. You can fill a cartridge and use that to unblock the head. once the head is working you can empty the cartridge and refill with ink
  3. For printers that have a head inside the printer rather than on the cartridge you can fill a cartridge and use that as a special 'cleaning cartridge' for when the situation requires it.
We provide this Cartridge Flush free with all our kits to help ensure that you get the best quality prints from your printer.

NB. One other thing you can use the cartridge flush for is cleaning any ink off your hands. A little bit of the solution should help remove any stains from your hands.

How do I use the JR Zap-It?

The Zap It is a chip resetter for Epson cartridges. It only works on cartridges for Epson printers.

The Zap-It uses an electrical charge from the battery inside it to send an electrical pulse to the cartridge and reset the ink value from empty to full.
  1. Hold the cartridge in one hand so the ink nozzle is pointing upwards
  2. In you other hand you will hold the Zap-It so the lights are pointing upwards
  3. Press the metal pins onto the gold contacts on the chip and both lights should flash once
  4. Hold the Zap-It and the cartridge together for about 7 seconds and then one of the lights should flash 6 times
  5. If the light that flashes is the green one then it has reset the cartridge sucessfully. If it is the red then you will need to try again.

How do I reset the protection counter on my Epson D78 / DX4000 / R265 series printers?

With most Epson printers you can reset them using a program called SSC for Epson

This allows you to reset the protection counter and continue using the printer after Epson has decided it needs to be 'repaired'. Unfortunately this software doesn't work with the new range of Epson printers, but there is a way to bypass this issue.

Use the program at http://www.refillingcartridge.com/

  1. Make sure you printer is ON and connected to your computer
  2. Change your computer’s date to 1 Nov 2006
  3. Run AdjProg.exe file
  4. Click Accept button
  5. Click “Particular adjustment mode”
  6. Select on “Waste ink pad counter” and click OK button
  7. Click on “Initialization” button and the program will reset the protection counter
  8. Click Finish button
  9. Change your computer’s date back
Once that is done the Waste Ink Counter should be reset and you will be able to print once again, without having to buy a new printer.
